Jirka received a Ph.D. degree in Theoretical Computer Science at Charles University in Prague in 2010 for a thesis in Discrete Applied Mathematics. Currently, he is a post-doc at the Computer Architectures for Embedded Systems group of the University of Twente. He is working in a research group that investigates the possibilities of increasing energy efficiency using embedded control, mainly via optimization and control algorithms. His research interests include discrete mathematics, mathematical modelling, applied optimizations and algorithm development.
