SUPPORTING DIGNITY IN DEMENTIA CARE THROUGH DESIGN - JODI STURGE

Residential care environments play a crucial role in supporting the health of patients, residents, and staff. In dementia care, interior designs and technologies are implemented to ensure safety, but can sometimes violate human rights and well-being. Jodi will share insights from a scoping review and design ethnography, exploring how design features affect mobility in people with dementia.

Additionally, she highlights the potential of human-building interaction (HBI) and provides valuable insights to inform future designs and design technologies that promote novel interaction, inclusivity, and the well-being of people with dementia.
