Future security impact, organized now
On May 19-20 the Twente University Centre for Cyber Security (TUCCR) organises FUSION 2022, a series of cybersecurity events together with INTERSCT, ACCSS and Novel T. The goal of these events is to celebrate Jaya Baloo's honorary doctors degree, to increase collaboration within the Netherlands in the area of cybersecurity end to strengthen innovation and Public-Private partnership in this area.
9:00 - INTERSCT. Conference on cybersecurity of Internet-of-Things
With the Internet-of-Things (IoT) we are seamlessly connecting the cyber and the physical worlds extending the risk area to safety requiring a broader perspective on security. IoT is turning out to be one of the weakest spots in our infrastructure. With billions and in the near future potentially trillions of devices, the security risks are growing at great rates. During the 2022 edition of the INTERSCT. Conference on cyber security of Internet-of-Things, we will address many of these issues.
15:45 - Dutch Cyber Security best Research Paper and ACCSS General Assembly
In the second part of the afternoon, the Dutch cybersecurity research paper top-three will be presented followed by the Best Paper Award Ceremony (organized by ACCSS/SIG CS). Finally in the second half of the afternoon the ACCSS General Assembly Meeting (‘Algemene Leden Vergadering’) will be held, followed by (for some partly parallel to) a reception. The ACCSS General Assembly is only for ACCSS members.
7:30 - NOVEL-T Cybersecurity Breakfast
Starting at 7:30 Novel-T organises a Cybersecurity breakfast session with a focus on regional SME's to inform about the impact cybersecurity challenges can have for local companies. With talks by Novel-T, Saxion and a demo by the Twente Hacking Squad.
10:30 - TUCCR Minisymposium
During this year's DIES, Jaya Baloo will receive an honorary doctorate in the area of cybersecurity. In her new role as honorary doctor, Jaya will act as the "ambassador for the University of Twente and the Twente University Centre for Cybersecurity (TUCCR)". To celebrate this, TUCCR organizes the "Boosting Cybersecurity Innovation and Entrepreneurship" mini symposium on the 20th of May. This event is an excellent opportunity to meet Jaya in person and discuss with her directions for future cybersecurity research.

During the 60th aniversary of the University of Twente honorary doctorates will be awarded to Debra Roberts, Jaya Baloo, Wim van Saarloos and Constatijn van Oranje-Nassau.
