Philosophy of Computing and AI Conference at UT in July 2025 Joint IACAP/AISB Conference, with 4TU.ethics collaboration

Over three days, 1-3 July 2025, two highly-regarded AI societies will join with the Philosophy Section to host a Philosophy of Computing and AI Conference at the University of Twente. The IACAP-AISB-25 conference, which will be opened with a keynote by Prof. Philip Brey, is now open for registration. 

The Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence and Simulation of Behaviour (AISB) and The International Association for Computing and Philosophy (IACAP) previously co-hosted a hugely successful joint conference in celebration of Turing at the University of Birmingham in 2007. 

This year's conference will include six parallel sessions comprised of nine themed symposia, as well as a rich track of individual academic papers. Opening the event will be a 4TU.ethics sponsored workshop exploring the convergence of Neurotechnology and AI. This will be followed by an opportunity to network and socialise with speakers and delegates.

AISB is the UK’s longest standing academic society for AI. It was established in 1964, and is a member of EurAI – the European Coordinating Committee for Artificial Intelligence. AISB runs an annual Convention each year where academics meet with industry to bring fresh perspectives on AI and discuss latest research.

Since their inception in the 1980's, IACAP has aimed to promote scholarly dialogue and research on all aspects of the computational and informational turn, and on the use of information and communication technologies in the service of philosophy.
