New vulnerabilities in Apple and Android smartphones Broadcom wifi driver problems

Researchers have found two new vulnerabilities in drivers for Broadcom wifi chips.

These vulnerabilities allow attackers to get access to the phones. They can run code, malware, on those phones with excess rights. Bothe Apple and Google have released updates to mitigate these vulnerabilities. Apple has only released an update for iOS 11. iOS 10.2 and iOS 10.3.3 will not get any update. Attack software for iPhones running iOS 10.2 is available. Software to attach iOS 10.3.3 will be available soon.

Google has solved these vulnerabilities in the September update. Alle Google phones have received this update. With Android phones from other manufacturers updates are not garantueed. Contact the supplier of you phone for updates. 

If you phone has not yet received any updateswe advise you to switch of Wi-Fi. Only switch it back on if you are in range of known, trustworthy and secured networks.
