The silent movie project: Laurel and Hardy Stephan Graf v. Bothmer

A unique theatre and cinema experience where you go back  to the time of silent movies!

You can see the punchline of the scenes coming from afar, but the perfect timing of Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy's brilliant mimicry and that infectious laugh from your neighbour makes it hard to keep your face straight. The accompanying music of composer Stephan Graf v. Bothmer, brought live, from behind the grand piano, completes the evening.

The silent movie project: Laurel and Hardy

In 1929, the careers of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy are at their peak. The moment the film industry starts with the first commercial sound films. With a big smile, Stan & Ollie find themselves in breakneck situations and everywhere they pass they make a mess of it. Cars and houses, the status symbol of the American Dream, they expertly manage to turn into chaos with their clumsiness.  The silent movie project: Laurel and Hardy, is a piano concerto that contains a selection of their best silent films.

Stephan Graf v. Bothmer

Pianist and organist Stephan Graf v. Bothmer has now accompanied more than 1,000 films, including classics such as Metropolis, Nosferatu and other comedies by Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton, among others.
