Benefit night for Ukraine
A probing theatre evening dedicated to solidarity and stories from the frontline. During this benefit performance, renowned writers, journalists and musicians commit to Ukraine. Expect a powerful programme with contributions from, among others, Tommy Wieringa, Jaap Scholten, Lisa Weeda, Mart de Kruif and Olaf Koens.
They will share personal experiences of the war, read from their own work and show exclusive visual material. The evening will be musically framed by Ukrainian musicians with moving and compelling compositions.
All proceeds will go to Protect Ukraine, a foundation dedicated to purchasing protective equipment for Ukrainian armed forces and reconstruction assistance. Think helmets, trauma kits, vests, winter clothing and transport equipment.
A special part of the evening is the presentation of Konvooi, Tommy Wieringa's latest book. In it, he describes his involvement in Protect Ukraine's first aid convoys in 2023. A journey through Ukraine's past and present, past Cossacks, soldiers and the endless steppe.
A unique evening of theatre where literature, journalism and music come together in the spirit of support and connection.
This evening is a collaboration with Studium Generale, Cultuurkoepel Apollo and Sirius.
