Going Dutch or European: VIDI or ERC Starting Grant
RESULT
Thorough understanding of the basic principles of Vidi Grant and ERC Starting Grant, helping you to decide which one is for you.
CONTENT
This workshop prepares researchers that are 4 to 7 years after their PhD award/defence date to become competitive candidates for two prestigious individual research grants: the ERC Starting Grant and the NWO Vidi Grant.
The workshop starts with an overview of both instruments, for basic understanding of the application rules, procedures and evaluation criteria.
The second half of the workshop is dedicated to assessing the difference between the two funding schemes, with an overview of what makes for a good Vidi Grant or ERC Starting Grant.
The workshop will conclude with a focus on your CV. What are important ingredients of your CV and what are the evaluation criteria that Vidi and ERC Starting evaluators look for? Does your CV fit one scheme better than the other, and, if not, what is still missing?
Programme is for
Interested researchers who are considering submitting an individual grant proposal for funding in the next 12-18 months, specifically an ERC Starting Grant or Vidi Grant. Experience in applying for funding is not required.
