Oriental Dance

A mesmerizing way of movement

Oriental dance has its origins in North Africa and the Middle East. A wide variety of movements make your body supple, strong and fit. It is an isolation dance: not all movements are in the same rhythm or in the same direction. You learn to use the different parts of your body separately. It is as if different storylines are being built up simultaneously in the dance, with the shoulders and hips doing the accentuating.

Belly dance is traditionally danced alone. It is playful, rebellious, powerful, spiritual and sensual. The music guides you to different rhythms in a dance. You learn to control your body, work on your overall posture, improve your balance and your (muscle) co-ordination and condition will improve. And it has a positive effect on your self-confidence. Feel how the oriental rhythms make you shiver and the melodies flow through your body. Try something new and explore your sensual side with belly dancing.
