CONTENT

History has taught us that sometimes there is some confusion with regards to the term 'evaluation'. Apparently some understand evaluation as assessment. Please bear in mind that in UTQ competence 4 and during this course the concept of evaluation is NOT intended as assessing student's learning but as reflecting on teaching by means of various methods in order to bring about improvements of that education.

Evaluation of education is important, so that you can recognize if your teaching is useful and what may need to be improved in the future. There are many ways teaching can be evaluated including guidance from colleagues and feedback from students. It is all about looking back to see how things went, and how you can improve in the future. Not only students are learning and improving, but teachers are learning and improving as well. In this course we offer you tools with which to evaluate your education in an effective way and insights how to analyse the evaluation results.

ORGANISATION

In Course 4 you work on an evaluation plan and design instruments you will use for the course you are teaching. This is mostly done by self study, with the workshop and an optional Q&A session to provide you with input and guidance along the way. You will conduct the evaluation and present your methods, the results and your analysis and conclusions to finalise Course 4.

ADMISSION CRITERIA
