ABOUT NWO VIDI
VIDI is a personal grant in the NWO Talent Program that allows researchers who have already spent several years doing research to develop their own innovative line of research. The VIDI application process involves two phases: applicants submit a pre-proposal (due on Nov. 2nd, 2023) and, if selected by the NWO committee, a full proposal (due on March 14th, 2024).
ABOUT THE COURSE
The course is divided into two sessions and covers the procedures and evaluation criteria for the NWO VIDI Talent Scheme.
On the first day of the course (Sep. 12th, 2023), there will be a discussion on general VIDI information. This session will also cover how to present your CV, academic profile, and key output specifically for VIDI.
On the second day of the course (Feb. 6th, 2024), the focus will be on the full proposal components, with a discussion on the research objectives and knowledge utilization.
SUPPORT
The VIDI course is offered by external consultants of Yellow Research, and it is designed specifically for researchers from the University of Twente (or applying with UT as host) with a competitive CV and an innovative research idea who are considering applying for an NWO-VIDI grant 2023.
In addition to this course, there is an extensive UT support program for VIDI candidates, which includes proposal feedback and review, language support, expert referee consultation, rebuttal, and interview preparation. In order to join this program, please send your request to grants-office@utwente.nl .
The UT Grants Office and each faculty also provide other support for VIDI candidates, such as information on the embedding guarantee (which is mandatory for submitting a VIDI application). For more information about the support provided by your faculty, please contact your faculty contact person (research support, faculty support, or contract office). Please be aware that this procedure might take time and needs to be started as early as 4 months before the first submission deadline.
