This course is intended for non-academic support staff members who feel that they lack the skills and/or confidence to speak English freely and fluently on general life topics that go beyond holiday English. Conversations on Life takes place online in a small group and a safe environment. The classes can be seen as a follow-up to the regular intermediate General English course, but it is not necessary that you have taken that course first. The classes focus exclusively on speaking; each class has its own themes:
1. Family and friendship 2. Goals and dreams 3. Values and drive 4. Joy and wellbeing | 5. Fears and regrets 6. Tradition and change 7. Success and failure 8. Life lessons: defining moments |
RESULT
The focus lies on refreshing existing knowledge, exploring new vocabulary, and gaining freedom and confidence by practicing English speaking skills on a weekly basis.
DURATION AND TIME INVESTMENT
The course will consist of 8 sessions of 1.5 hours each over the course of 8 weeks. No additional time investment is needed outside of class, so there is no homework and no level test before or at the end of the course.
