Data Management bootcamp


At the end of this course you will

  • be able to write a data management plan (DMP)
  • be aware of and informed about management of data for verification and reuse
  • be aware of and informed about the value of research data as scientific output of your research
  • be aware of legal issues in the handling of research data


The course consists of the following parts:

  1. Online course on how to compose a DMP combined with writing the first draft of your own DMP
  2. Half-day interactive session aimed at reviewing first draft of the DMP, sharing experiences on data handling and providing additional information about policies, procedures and best practices.  
  3. Revision of the draft DMP.

    This course is offered 4 or 5 times per year, the dates of the interactive session are indicated below. Please be aware that at least 20 hours are required for finishing the online course in Canvas during the four weeks before the interactive session.

    Online course and writing of first draft of DMP: 20 hours
    Interactive session: 4 hours
    Revising draft DMP: 2 hours 
    Total: 26 hours

    Online course in Canvas during four weeks before the date of the interaction session for which you sign up (see below)

  • Requirements

    English language proficiency at level CEF B2 or higher (Common European Framework) is required.

  • Maximum participants

    20 participants per faculty. Please use the right registration link (see below) available for your faculty. Registration at a wrong faculty will not be considered, e.g. PhD from EMCS faculty cannot use the registration link for TNW Faculty.
