Maximum 10 participants
Will be provided for during the training
For all PhD-candidates, postdocs and researchers
Provide participants with the opportunity to develop skills to present research results through an effective and professional poster presentation as part of a scientific conference.
Before the first session, participants prepare an initial draft of a research poster (based on their own research results) of which they will take a small (A4) printout to the first training session. In the first session the following aspect will be covered:
- What is an effective poster?
- Examples of good and bad posters
- Specific guidelines for designing a good poster
- Presentation of the poster
- First feedback on the participants own posters.
After the first session, the participants will revise their posters, email them for review and comments from the trainer and print them out in full size. The second session, all participants will present their posters for the group after which they receive feedback from the trainer and the group through rubric evaluation forms.
Attendance at both sessions is essential. Participants are expected to prepare in advance a first draft of a poster presentation based on their own research results. After the first training session they will revise their posters and present them in the second training session. The study load for this course is roughly equivalent to 1 ECTS.
Selected course is not available.
