Transition Regulations of C&PE 2016

Transition regulations of C&PE track for pre-TOM-students

Approved by Board of Examiners of ChE at February 2nd 2016

In 2016-2017 the curriculum of the master track Chemical and Process Engineering of the educational programme of Chemical Engineering will be adapted to the influx of TOM-students into the master. Three new courses will be introduced, Advanced Chemical reaction Engineering, Sustainable Process Technology and Advanced Catalysis and two courses will be stopped, Chemical Reaction Engineering and Multiphase Reaction Technology. For these courses a transition regulation is required.

Pre-TOM students (students who enrolled in the master Chemical Engineering in 2015 or earlier)

A written exam of the course will be available for minimal one extra year.

When the student successfully finishes Advanced Chemical Reaction engineering the student obtains an exemption for Chemical Reaction Engineering

Alternatively (always in consultation with the lecturer):

The average grade of these two tests will count as your grade for the subject ‘Chemical Reaction Engineering’.

This option is suitable for students who started their master last year (or earlier) but who still need to pass CRE.

Multiphase reaction technology

The Matlab and reactor selection & design tests will be available for minimal one extra year

The opportunities for the design assignment will be maintained

The first opportunity to sit the complete exam (reactor selection & design as well as the design assignment) is planned for  15 March 2017. Please register for the exam by sending a mail to the lecturer before the first of March 2017.
