The Creative Technology programme aims at graduates who are context-driven problem-solvers.

To this end, they acquire skills and knowledge in five areas:

  1. Self-management of the process of creation by a designer;
  2. Understanding and use of technology;
  3. Designing for interaction, expression, impact and experience;
  4. Societal and economic value; and
  5. Academic and professional skills.

Year 1  contains four modules:
Module 1: 20160066 We Create Identity
Module 2: 201300132 Smart Environments
Module 3: 201600231 Living and working Tomorrow, Ideation and Explorative Design
Module 4: 201600232 Art, Impact and Technology

Each module has a study load of 15 EC and is scheduled in a ten week period (a quartile). Each module has a range of activities which contribute to the five areas of intended learning outcomes mentioned above.  Approximately one third of the study load of a module is devoted to a project, a “Creative Application (CA)”,  which means students will work in a group towards a concept and prototype, where the constraints on the result to be delivered are very general, and where finding a “starting point” is part of the designer’s creative process. The information about year 1 has been organised as follows:

An overview containing the contents of the first year can be found in table one Year 1 Overview page. The columns correspond to the four modules. Activities in each column are grouped according to their contribution to the five areas.  In the table itself three links can be found.

1. The first link (Osiris course descriptions 2016 – 2017) refers to the Osiris course catalogue of the respective module.
2. The second link (Osiris course descriptions 2015 – 2016) refers to the Osiris course catalogue of last year of the respective module. Some of the Osiris descriptions of modules scheduled later in the year are perhaps not opened yet. In those cases the descriptions of last year can be consulted as they will to a very large extend be similar as the current year.
3. The third link brings you to the details regarding the activities (courses) in each module.

The description of module 1 – 4 in general, together with their course descriptions can be found at the additional info pages (this information can also be reached via the third link in the table):
