The Taste of Teaching course is primarily offered to PhD students. It offers participants an immersive exploration of the fundamentals of

- group project facilitation, and supervision of
- individual student guidance for thesis writing.
Delivered through a blended learning approach, the course combines pre-session preparation via readings, videos, and assignments on Canvas with interactive in-person sessions. Participants engage actively with peers, leveraging their prepared assignments to enhance collaborative learning.
Acknowledging diverse levels of prior teaching experience, the course encourages knowledge-sharing among participants who have backgrounds in teaching, whether through a minor in Learning to Teach or previous roles as student assistants or tutors. Optional supplementary materials on Canvas provide opportunities for further exploration of specific topics.
Throughout the course, participants hone their teaching and supervisory skills through practical exercises tailored to their individual learning goals. By the conclusion of the four-session program, participants gain invaluable insights, techniques, and strategies to shape their educational practices.
