Organisation : FrisiusMC (CONN) |
Location: Leeuwarden, the Netherlands |
Period of internship: February-April (there is some flexibility) |
Description of Assignment |
Are you a Dutch-speaking student interested in health, behaviour change, and patient-centred care? This internship offers a unique opportunity to combine research with real-world clinical experience. You will contribute to an innovative study exploring how motivation and participation in follow-up care influence long-term weight loss maintenance after bariatric surgery. As part of this project, you will help conduct and analyse patient interviews and gain hands-on experience with qualitative research methods. In addition, you will have the opportunity to spend time in the hospital, observe follow-up consultations and doctor-patient interactions, and gain insight into the daily practice of bariatric care. A particularly exciting aspect of this project is that the hospital has recently developed a new eHealth tool to support bariatric follow-up care, which is currently being evaluated by researchers at the University of Twente during its implementation. You will therefore be involved in research at the intersection of healthcare innovation, digital health, and patient behaviour. Working within a supportive research team, you will develop skills in both quantitative and qualitative research while contributing to the future of personalised and hybrid bariatric care. The internship includes on-site activities, with dates and scheduling arranged in consultation. If you are interested, it is possible to combine the internship with your masterthesis. |
