Research assignment
Artificial Intelligence tools such as ChatGPT are increasingly being used to obtain health information and lifestyle advice. However, little is known about how persuasive and motivating people perceive AI-generated health advice to be. In this study, participants will be asked to interact with ChatGPT using a series of health- and lifestyle-related prompts. After receiving the AI-generated responses, participants will evaluate the advice on factors such as persuasiveness, relevance, personal applicability, credibility, and motivation to change behaviour. The study aims to explore whether AI-generated health advice can encourage healthy behaviour and which characteristics are associated with higher persuasive impact. Data will be collected through an online survey among university students. Quantitative analyses will be used to examine relationships between perceptions of the advice and intentions to change behaviour. The findings may contribute to our understanding of the role of AI in health promotion and behaviour change. Results may also provide insights for the future design of AI-supported lifestyle interventions and digital health applications.
