Research

At PCRS we address diverse societal, social and individual safety issues including sustainability, criminality and cybercrime, and risk decision making and communication. We apply social and cognitive psychology in combination with technology to ensure our research has impact on society.

To achieve our goals, we collaborate closely with societal partners and industry. For example, many of our group and PhD candidates are members of the Kurt Lewin Institute. We participate in the 4TU Resilience engineering center and the VU-UT collaboration. Common research partners include The WODC, police and police academy (see our collaboration page for a more extensive overview). Internally, we collaborate closely with the BMS lab to ensure that we have the technology and expertise required to use the most cutting edge methods.

On this page, you can find an overview of our research output, some examples of current projects and meetings where we present our research. To see a detailed overview of the research interests of our team, please have a look at our individual staff profiles.
