Making a podcast or video animation of published research

ASSIGNMENT

Getting the findings of our research to the people who can make use of them is an important aspect of academic research. In this assignment you will learn how to create a short podcast or video animation based on published research that can be disseminated to the general public. Audio and video content plays a large role in our everyday lives as it offers quick and simple learning. The audio/video will be about 4 minutes explaining the published article in lay terms. So the podcast or video will offer quick and simple learning with the easy to understand content.

The internship student will start by getting acquainted with how existing successful scientific podcasts or animated videos are set up. Then, a script will be developed based on an existing publication. Subsequently, the actual podcast / video animation will be made. The aim is that the podcast / video animation is of such quality that the end product will be spread in the scientific network. The possible publications you can choose from are listed under the literature heading below.

Note that learning animation skills is not part of the project. So if you are interested in making a video animation, you need to have (to gain) knowledge how to create animations in a video. If you do not have (or can gain) this knowledge, there is the (not lesser) option of creating a short podcast.

KEYWORDS

Dissemination; Podcast; Video animation.
