Second place went to René Torenvlied (BMS-PA), who appeared frequently in the media with his research on the Enschede fireworks disaster, such as the NOS. Bram Nauta (EEMCS) won the Simon Stevin Prize in 2023 and was extra visible in various media partly because of this, such as in this great article in the Volkskrant headlined: Dutch 'Nobel Prize' winner Bram Nauta: 'I want to play, something wonderful usually comes out of that.'
