UT works on project to get rapid cardiac arrest help via smartwatch Dutch Media; Interview Derya Demirtas RTV Oost

Every day, 40 people in the Netherlands suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital. Nearly half die and many suffer permanent brain damage due to failure to intervene in time. Dr. Derya Demirtas, associate professor at the University of Twente (UT), is working with a number of partners on a smartwatch that sounds the alarm in the event of a cardiac arrest.
