Gaming as a binding agent between students and companies

Gamers in Twente will soon be able to find each other more easily thanks to a new project by the Esportslab on campus. "Esports connects people, even if that is physically more difficult because of a lockdown."

At the beginning of this year, the Esportslab started in the DesignLab with the Esports Ladder: a game competition for companies and students. Research leader Guido Bruinsma, who works at the BMS department IEBIS, says that companies regularly use the connecting power of sport to connect employees. Strangely enough, there was no such thing for esports. Due to corona, normal sports networks are largely at a standstill, but with esports it is easy to find a digital connection.'
