CHEPSÂ regularly organise workshops and seminars. Themes have included the regional impact of universities, quality assessment and higher education, the market-orientation of universities, effective planning in higher education, changing governance structures, benchmarking, and Innovative Universities. In addition to these open seminars, CHEPS also offers tailor-made training programmes, study tours and short courses on higher education for particular groups. These have been designed for Ministries and university leaders from many countries including Brazil, Finland, Hungary, Indonesia, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Surinam, South Africa and Vietnam. Focus areas have included modern university management, the challenges of policy implementation, the use of ICT in higher education, and higher education funding.
