OECD review of the Portuguese Science, Technology and Higher Education System

The Portuguese Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES) invited the Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation and the Directorate for Education and Skills of the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) to provide an international perspective on the Portuguese science, technology and higher education systems and policies. The review will take a broad view of higher education, research and innovation in Portugal, including issues related to its strategic orientation, funding and staffing. The review (during 2017) will result in a report which will provide, from an international perspective, an independent analysis of major strengths and challenges of the sector, current policy initiatives, and possible future approaches.

The Review team is composed of analysts from the OECD and four high level international experts, including Jon File from CHEPS.
