Is human involvement essential for reliable AI?
In the process of making a diagnosis, numerous data points are collected about the patient. In healthcare, so much data is now being gathered that it surpasses the capacity of the human brain to comprehend. Dr. Meike Nauta (BIT '16, TCS '18, PhD '23), senior data scientist at Datacation, explains that this presents a prime opportunity for AI. However, she simultaneously emphasizes the importance of explainable AI and human guidance.
