Overview

The Examination Regulations and Graduation Requirements is part of the Student’s Charter that describes the partnership between the organisation (Department of Science and Technology, University of Twente) and its students in terms of the kind of performance that is expected of both those parties. This document outlines the rights and obligations of both parties within the educational process: on the one hand there is the student and on the other hand there is the organisation.

Alongside of the commitment obligation on the part of the organisation as described in this charter there is the commitment obligation of the student to satisfy all the requirements and gain the degree in question within the allocated time. The Dutch version of this document has been endorsed by the Faculty Council in which both the dean, and the students are represented. The rights that the student can appeal to on the grounds of this charter are granted to him in order to make such appealing possible. The charter has its legal foundations in Art. 7.59 of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Act (WHW).
