Dr. Ir. Jos Paulusse studied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology. In 2002 he started as a graduate student at the Laboratory of Macromolecular and Organic Chemistry under guidance of Prof. Rint Sijbesma and Prof. Bert Meijer. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2006 with his thesis titled: Reversible Mechanochemistry of Coordination Polymers and Networks.

After a short post-doctoral stay with Prof. Meijer, he moved to the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2007 and worked as an NWO Rubicon post-doctoral fellow with Prof. Craig Hawker on the development of biodegradable vinyl polymers.

In 2009 he started as assistant professor Bionanotechnology at Wageningen University working with Prof. Han Zuilhof. He worked on several different research topics focusing on the development of fluorescent silicon nanoparticles and functional polymer nanoparticles, as well as the surface modification of inorganic substrates and their interaction with proteins.

In 2012, Jos started as assistant professor at the MIRA Institute at Twente University. In collaboration with Prof. Johan Engbersen he is working, amongst others, on the development of new drug delivery systems.
