(FULLY BOOKED) April 11: Theatershow Diederik Jekel

Seeing the art in artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) has  become an integral part of modern society. Self-driving cars, facial recognition on your phone, chatbots, Siri, Netflix suggestions. But is AI only a positive influence on our lives? In this theatre lecture, UT alumnus Diederik Jekel takes you into a special story. Diederik Jekel explains in a clear way exactly how we got here and above all: where humanity is headed. What exactly is life? What is creativity? Is AI part of evolution or not? Jekel answers all current questions, and also adds a few new ones. It will be an educational evening with a lot of humour - perhaps one of the last performances written by a human being.

Diederik Jekel is an UT alumnus, science journalist, writer and presenter of television programmes. He was a regular guest at De Wereld Draait Door for years  and presented the National Science Quiz Junior. In 2014 he came third in De Slimste Mens. He is therefore the right person to translate complex topics to the general public in an understandable way. His lecture Seeing the Art in Artificial Intelligence is suitable for everyone, from young to old, from programmers to technology laymen.
