Fluid Dynamics has a history of more than 100 years, however, in the last two decades it has become more topical than ever, with outstanding scientific questions and extremely relevant challenges. It is nearly impossible to overestimate the relevance of fluid dynamics for mankind. The human body, the ocean, the atmosphere, industrial plants in the chemical or food industry, power stations for energy supply, transportation devices, or, on the small scale, bacteria or microfluidic devices and processes for medical diagnostics and the pharmaceutical industry are all systems that are frequently out of equilibrium. Fluid dynamics is also essential for energy production, as in combustion, or in the hydrogen economy and the energy transition, such as in catalysis & electrolysis and for CO2 storage, or for additive manufacturing, which is also relevant in the health sector for printing artificial tissue or organs or for the spreading of respiratory diseases. This meeting is set up to discuss the future of fluid dynamics in the broadest sense based around 6 pillars, Flow for: high tech, health, food and agriculture, environment, climate, and energy transition. We will invite speakers all over the world to present their work and how this will shape the future.
