Pantelis Bampoulis VENI proposal entitled ‘Low Dimensional Germanium Allotropes Akin to Graphene: from 2D to 0D’ has been granted.

The project aims at the development of germanene nanoribbons and nanodots. The growth of these low dimensional structures will enable the investigation of novel physical phenomena arising from their unique electronic structure and low dimensionality. It is the first step toward their implementation in nanoelectronic and spintronic applications.
