Polymer coatings
Dr. Sissi de Beer
Surface functionalization with polymer coatings is a key area of research at the Polymer Center Twente, with broad application across many fields. Our research focuses on the design and development of optimal polymer coatings for diverse applications, including sensing, separation technologies, and surface protection. Through a combination of molecular modeling and laboratory experiments, our team works to tailor the properties of polymer coatings to optimize performance in a range of applications, including for the biomedical, automotive, and packaging industries. Our expertise includes the use of advanced characterization techniques, such as spectroscopy and microscopy, to gain a deeper understanding of the structure and behavior of polymer coatings. Overall, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable and circular economy by designing coatings that improve the durability, functionality, and recyclability of products.
