Complex Fluids & Rheology & Living Cells

Many products of our daily lives such as cosmetic creams, milk products, or paints classify as complex fluid systems. The mechanical properties of such emulsions or dis-persions are largely deter-mined by the properties and/or the state of aggregation of the microscopic droplets or particles within the system. We study the mechanical properties of emulsions and colloidal suspensions. Topics of interest include structure-property correlations, aging, mechanics of living cells.
