Cocktail of medications
Two years ago, ZonMw granted a project to a consortium of UT/MIRA, back/UMCG, VU University Medical Centre, MST, Crossbeta biosciences and Baliopharm. The project is aimed at the treatment of the complex disease Alzheimer's in a different way, namely by a cocktail of medications against multiple characteristics of the disease. Typically, characteristics of the disease are separately treated with various medications. In addition, it is known that drug delivery to the brain is difficult. Looking for a solution, the medication is packed in nanoparticles.
