Join our comprehensive introductory course on Membrane Technology, where you will be introduced to the essentials of membranes and their wide range of applications!
When and where?
15-17 April 2026 at the campus of the University of Twente
Introduction to the Fundamentals of Membrane Technology
Membrane technology is a key enabling technology in a wide range of sectors, from the water and food industries to chemistry, energy, and healthcare. In this intensive introductory course, you will become acquainted with the fundamentals of membranes: how they work, the different types that exist, and the ways in which they contribute to sustainable processes and innovative applications.
The course covers both fundamental principles (through lectures by academic researchers) and concrete real-world examples (through lectures by industry speakers). You will learn about the various separation mechanisms, how membranes are applied in industrial processes, and the roles they play in addressing major societal challenges.
Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for anyone interested in separation technology, in particular (but not limited to!) industrial professionals (researchers, engineers, laboratory staff, operators, etc.), PhD students involved in molecular separations. Additionally, educators and professionals from both the private and public sectors dealing with novel sustainability technologies will find this course beneficial.
No prior knowledge or experience with membranes is required.
The advised level of education is (Applied) University, and the course will be taught in English.
Course Highlights
- Lectures by researchers from the Twente Membranes Department of the University of Twente
