BIOGRAPHY
PROFESSOR OF SURGERY
Jeroen Meijerink (1961) is trained as a general surgeon. After his residency he specialized in Gastro-intestinal and Colorectal Surgery. He started his professional career in the Medical Centre Leeuwarden. Jeroen realized the first 4 laparoscopic Endosuites (specialized operation rooms for laparoscpic surgery) in Europe. Training programs for colorectal laparoscopic surgery were set up through the LIMIS institute.
In 2006 Jeroen moved to VU Medical Centre in Amsterdam as consultant CR surgery. In 2016 Jeroen is appointed as professor in innovative surgery at the Radboud University Medical Centre in Nijmegen and chair of the department of Operation Rooms and MITeC Technology Centre.
