Opening BioImaging Centre

It is our pleasure to invite you for the festive opening of the BioImaging Centre (BIC) by Prof. Vinod Subramaniam, on Thursday, March 30. The BIC is the core microscopy facility of the University of Twente, and it is available for all researchers of the UT, as well as external parties.

The BIC provides cutting edge microscopy systems, including confocal fluorescence microscopy and confocal Raman microscopy, and the first TomoCube system in the Netherlands for 3-D label-free imaging of cells. In addition, the BIC is equipped for experimental microscopy, notably having a unique wavefront-shaping/adaptive optics 2-photon microscope. Expert technical guidance and training is available for both the commercial and the experimental systems.

Integrated into the BIC are cell culture facilities, and technical support is available for genetic modification (CRISPR-Cas9) in an ML-II biosafety laboratory.

Please mark March 30 in your calendar. During the day, users of the facility will present some of the key technologies present at the BIC, and we are glad to welcome key-note speaker prof. Erik Danen (Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research) who will present the use of novel imaging technologies in cancer research.

  • Date: 30 March: 10:00 - 13:30
  • Location: Zuidhorst (building 28) lecture hall ZH286
  • Lunch included

We are looking forward to see you at the opening ceremony!

Ivo Vellekoop, Marcel Karperien, Robert Passier, Tom Knop and Ine Segers-Nolten.
