Admission UT bachelors

On this page you will find information on admission into the SET master's programme if you have finished a UT bachelor's degree. You may be eligible for the SET master's programme if you have a bachground in Advanced Technology, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. See below for details per background. 

Advanced Technology (at)

Necessary prior knowledge: AT students are obliged to include the following courses in their B3 program:

  • 115413: Inleiding Stromingsleer 3.5 EC
  • 115414: Strominglseer en warmte-overdracht 3.5 EC
  • 113115: Systeem en regeltechniek I 3.0 EC

It is recommended to follow the courses that you skipped in your B2 electives; that are the remainging courses from the following sets:

  • Elektronische Basischakelingen/Production Technology/Interfaces and Catalysis
  • Vibrations and Waves/Modelling of Physical Systems/Basic Chemistry

Furthermore you can select electives that prepare for a specific specialization within SET, for example chemically oriented (Biomass or Hydrogen), thin-layer technology oriented (PV energy) or fluid dynamics oriented (wind energy), et cetera. Discuss your ideas preferably early with a SET study coordinator.

Master programme: Depending on your electives, but basically no additional demands.

Applied Physics (TN)

Necessary prior knowledge: No additional demands. It may be useful to follow a chemically oriented course as elective course in your B3, such as Basic Chemistry.

Master programme: You follow the normal program. If you lack basic knowledge in chemistry it is advised to follow the self-study course on chemistry.

Chemical Engineering (CT)

Necessary prior knowledge: No additional demands.

Master programme: -

Civil Engineering (CiT)

Necessary prior knowledge: You need to follow the course Stromingsleer en Warmte-Overdracht I (SWO I).

Master programme: - 

Electrical Engineering (EL)

Necessary prior knowledge: You need to follow the course Stromingsleer en Warmte-Overdracht I (SWO I) or Inleiding Stromingsleer.

Master programme: If you passed “Inleiding elektrische energietechniek (124177)”, you have to replace Electrical Power Engineering with an additional specialization course or with SWO I. It is advised to follow the self study course on chemistry, in case you lack basic knowledge on chemistry.

Mechanical Engineering (WB)

Necessary prior knowledge: No additional demands.

Master programme: You have to replace the Design Methodology course with an additional specialization course. If you lack basic knowledge in chemistry it is advised to follow the self-study course on chemistry.
