UT/TU DEAN virtual event - East Coast USA

ONLINE EVENTS FOR ALUMNI ABROAD

If getting together in-person isn’t possible, let’s meet virtually! Following successful virtual events in the Nordics, Spain, France & Germany it’s time for to also host DEAN* gatherings in the USA and Canada.

On Thursday May 14th at 8:00 PM (EST) you are invited to join alumni from both your own city and other East Coast regions** as part of a special online event and borrel.

Programme: The interactive evening programme includes brief updates from the universities, followed by a short talk by TU Delft alumna Joyce Wong. Joyce is a user experience designer at an online furniture and home goods company, where she makes the shopping experience easier to use. During her talk Joyce will share how she uses design thinking and empathy to understand her users and discover new business opportunities.

Per tradition, our gathering concludes with a virtual borrel (BYOB) where you and fellow alumni living in Boston, New York, Washington DC, Houston, Toronto as well as other cities will be mixed with each other to maximize interactions and stimulate conversations! Make sure to also bring some snacks and drinks!

Why are these online events being organized? Alumni networks are extremely useful resources particularly during crisis periods for tapping into fellow alumni for advice, contacts and support. The new online event format has been developed to enhance local connections between alumni and is an addition to existing channels like:  LinkedIn Group DEAN USA / LinkedIn Group DEAN Canada and newly city based WhatsApp Groups.

To join us on Thursday register via this online form with registrations managed by the TU Delft Alumni Office. Please note that there is a maximum capacity of 100 participants – if necessary a waiting list will be created.

If you are unable to participate but would still like to be added to a local alumni WhatsAppp group in your city use the event registration form as well.

* The Dutch Engineers Alumni Network (DEAN) of TU Delft, TU Eindhoven, UTwente, and Wageningen University launched its activities in 2014 and now has active communities in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Nordics, Spain, Switzerland and the USA. Both technical and non-technical UT alumni are welcome to join DEAN events and access resources.

** This event is targeted specifically for alumni living in the EST & CST time zones with a separate West Coast gathering currently being planned.
