David Fernandez Rivas nominated for Dutch Engineering Award

David Fernandez Rivas is one of the three finalists of the "Prince Friso Engineering Award 2021", David is a UT researcher and founder of the spinoff companies InkBeams and BuBclean. The winner will be announced on "Engineer's Day", on March 17, and the public can cast their vote via the KIVI website until 15 March.

David Fernandez Rivas has developed a way to inject "needle-free". The idea is to use the speed of a liquid jet, instead of a needle, to deliver either medicine or ink (for a tattoo). David has now also translated his ideas into two spin-off companies. This was reason enough for the KIVI engineering association to nominate him for the Prince Friso Engineering Award. The other two nominees come from Saxion Hogescholen and the company Witteveen en Bos.

The award is named after Prince Friso, himself an aerospace engineering engineer, who was killed in a fatal skiing accident in 2013. The prize will be awarded on March 17, in an online setting.
