At the start of this month, MESA+ partner the Institute of Industrial Science of the University of Tokyo (IIS) organized a small event to plant tulip bulbs in honour of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
In October 2020, MESA+ and IIS signed a MoU to further strengthen the collaboration of both institutions. “We’ve sent tulip bulbs to Tokyo to celebrate this agreement”, says Wilfred van der Wiel. The Japanese partners decided to host an ‘official’ planting ceremony. “We believe they will be blooming beautifully in spring as a symbol of our friendship”, says Satoshi Iwamoto, one of the partners at IIS. On 24 and 25 March 2021, MESA+ and IIS will host an (online) workshop.
