Workshop painting and Netwerkborrel

Dear ladies,

The Female Faculty Network Twente invites you to the interactive workshop:

“Painting in acryl and mixed media”

by Luz Jiménez Diaz

on Friday 2 December 2011 from 13.30 till 16.30 hrs.

in building Vrijhof (paint atelier)

Afterwards there will be a “network borrel”

from 16.30 hrs. in building Vrijhof, Theatercafé

As it has been a yearly tradition, around Sinterklaas and Christmas, FFNT organizes a somewhat fun and unusual event. This year we present a painting workshop.

Make a painting in one afternoon:

You can choose one of the three themes: emotions, landscape, still life.

You start with a pencil drawing exercise.

Then we decide on the composition of the painting.

After that you can choose a technique- acrylic, crayon, pastel or collage- and whether it will be an abstract or realistic painting.

Off we go and by the end we will have a real masterpiece.

Luz Graciela Jimenez Diaz was born in Bogota, Colombia, and studied architecture at the university there. She worked as an architect in housing projects and as manager of the National Opera and Art Festivals. In 1991 she came to the Netherlands to study. She graduated in 2005 from AKI Academy in Enschede with a major in mixed media.
She participated in several solo and group exhibitions in the Netherlands. She is an independent artist based in the heart of Enschede, near the Cultural Mile. She paints, makes objects and scenery.

Please reply if you want to join the workshop by sending an e-mail to: ffnt@utwente.nl.

If you cannot participate in the workshop you are very welcome to join the netwerkborrel at the end of the afternoon.

Further information about the FFNT you can find on: http://www.utwente.nl/ffnt.

Kind regards on behalf of the Female Faculty Network Twente (FFNT),

Upcoming activities:

•12 January, 15.30-17.00 Film presentation “Gender differences in communication”, Faculty Club (Blomzaal)

•7 February, 13.30-17.00 Workshop Networking by Geraldine Sinnema, Drienerburght

The FFNT aims to support the professional development of women in academia and to provide a network for sharing and exchanging experiences. Another objective is to act as an intermediate between female faculty and the superiors in order to collect and communicate gender-related issues in the working environment and on the career path of women. In actual practice, the FFNT develops workshops and lectures especially for women, partly in co-operation with the HR department (whose activities are otherwise gender neutral).
