Invitation Open Discussion on the topic #MeToo on November 8

The Ambassador's Network and the Female Faculty Network of the UT would like to invite you to an open discussion on the topic #MeToo.  The meeting will take place on Wednesday 8th November, 16:00-17:30 hrs. in the Waaier Building, room 3.

#MeToo in Academia

The last weeks, we have seen a worldwide wave of women posting “#MeToo” messages, relating how they experienced unwanted and uninvited attentions and intimidations from men, often with a sexual connation. Also at the UT, the topic has been discussed started by a post from Vanessa Evers about power abuse and harassment in academia. The Executive Board has expressed their support for Vanessa, and made it clear that no form of transgressive behavior is tolerated at the UT. The University of Twente's campus is, and has to remain a safe place to live, work and study.

We would like to continue this discussion within the full UT community, and therefore we invite everybody to come and talk about current UT policies and procedures in the case of sexual harassment, and in particular about how these policies and procedures could be further improved in the future.

The discussion features a panel composed by Thom Palstra (Rector Magnificus), Joost Sluijs (HR), Vanessa Evers (EWI) and Melanie Braamhaar (UT Confidential Advisor).
