The UT wants more women at the top: What do we do to get them there?
The percentage of women in professor (4.2%) and associate professor (8.7%) positions in the UT is one of the lowest of all Dutch Universities (2006). Since the battle for brains is remarkable we cannot afford it anymore to overlook half of our talent pool: the female part. That’s why the UT set up an extensive programme to stimulate the access of more women to top positions. Measures at an individual, a structural and at a cultural level are all meant to create awareness and willingness to act of the persons in leadership positions and to facilitate the individual women with their career paths.
Drs. A.H.G. Brunger is working at the UT since 2000 in different jobs. Since two years he's heading the Group Directorate Personnel and Organization. The project More women in higher positions at the UT is one of the many projects that fall under his responsibility.
