Welcome to join us in contributing to the 4TU.ENERGY funded Energy Transition in Building community!

 Date: 3-4 September 2025

Time:  10:30-17:00 hrs

📌LocationTechnohal (t.b.d) &U Park hotel, UT Campus

The energy transition is upon us, demanding innovative and efficient solutions to power the future. Join us for an exciting two-day hackathon and workshop on Building energy Responsive Integration of supply and Demand engaGEment (BRIDGE)—an exciting and groundbreaking initiative aimed at harmonizing building energy supply and demand through intelligent integration. Collaborate with young researchers and students from the 4TU universities to tackle real-world challenges and create solutions that will shape the future of energy in buildings. Network with academic and industry experts, gain insights, and get inspired to make an impact.

Day 1: Hackathon— Targeting to PhDs but MSc/Postdocs are also welcome!

During this hands-on event, you will tackle real-world challenges focused on improving the energy system efficiency of buildings. Topics may include decentralized energy hubs, district heating & cooling, smart grid sustainability, AI-driven demand response and control systems, or any other innovative solution you bring to the table.

What’s more — throughout the hackathon & workshop, you'll have the opportunity to engage directly with experts from industry and academia, who will be available to provide feedback, insights, and inspiration. These connections are a valuable chance to explore potential career paths, receive mentorship, and spark future collaborations. The top 3 groups will earn exciting prize money — so bring your ideas, energy, and team spirit!

Day 2: Workshop—Open to all researchers!

Researchers — especially young researchers such as Associate and Assistant Professors, Postdocs, PhD students, and professionals — are warmly invited to join. This is a unique opportunity to connect with leading experts from academia, industry, and government, fostering collaborations that can inspire new research directions and practical applications.

For young researchers, it also offers a valuable platform to team up with peers and senior experts for future joint proposals, grant applications, and collaborative research initiatives.
