Hydrogen UT (HyUT)

Hydrogen UT (HyUT) serves as a single point of contact for everything related to H2 at the University of Twente.

Mission

HyUT facilitates cross-disciplinary and cross-topic cooperation across the five UT faculties on the topic of hydrogen-related research and education for the emerging low carbon economy. HyUT makes strategic efforts to advance the frontiers of hydrogen-based solutions, and strengthen UT's position as a global leader in sustainable energy research and education.

The central principles of HyUT closely relate to the University of Twente strategy "Shaping 2030":

Vision

HyUT reinforces and expands current engagements locally with the Twente Board, Windesheim & Saxion Universities of Applied Sciences, Hydrogen Hub in Almelo, and Industriepark Kleefse Waard in Arnhem to accelerate the H2 economy in OostNL. HyUT also plays an active role in national, cross-border and international collaborations as a member of GroenvermogenNL, NXTGen HighTech, Hydrogen Europe Research and as member of drafting committees for the annual work programme of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, part of the European Union.

Key Pillars

HyUT is build upon five pillars: production, utilization, storage & transport, systems, and policy & society.
