Dr. Yang Miao and Prof. Andre Kokkeler, in collaboration with Prof. George Shaker and Prof. Alex Wong in University of Waterloo, Canada, won a strategic collaboration grant. Below is the summary of the project, and it will kick-off this May.
Title: Remote health monitoring enabled by integrating radar sensing and radio communication networks

The research team will work on advancing contact-free sensing and monitoring of human activities, sleep quality, and various health metrics using radar sensing and radio communication networks. This research addresses limitations of current wearable health monitors and explores the integration of radar and communication devices for contact-free proactive health monitoring. The initiative promises significant developments in non-invasive health technology and strengthens the partnership between the two universities, fostering sustainable, long-term collaboration.
