EMAIL BOT
Problem statement
The problem is originated from coordinating Module 12 Research Project, but it is relevant for other business cases as well for replying repeatedly similar questions. If you are a bachelor student who is going to do this module, you will like it.
Many students/clients don’t have time (or don’t want) to read the provided documents (manuals/FAQ etc.) available in the web. They simply send emails with their questions to the contact person. It is annoying and time wasting for the contact person to repeatedly reply those emails. Although an auto-reply message to alert students/customers to read the relevant information would be helpful, finding the right answers from documents might be time consuming for students as well. An email bot is needed to help both parties. It can read the email from the students, understand the semantic meaning, find the right content from the provided documents, and reply the email automatically without the intervention of the teachers.
Task
- Find the relevant research in the field of email bot (and/or chatbot) and identify what is missing.
- Develop the email bot based on open source codes.
- Identify evaluation metrics and test it.
