We just learned that our team from the UT, consisting of Daniela Guericke, Asal Karimpour and Ieke Schrader from CHOIR/IEBIS as well as Rolf van der Hulst and Matthias Walter from the MOR group made it into the finals of the integrated healthcare timetabling competition 2024, a computational competition whose goal is to foster research about efficient algorithms for timetabling in healthcare. Our team is among the 5 finalists out of 32 submissions. The winning team is still to be determined since the competititon organizers are currently busy with carrying out a detailed comparison of the finalists' implementations.
Our successful participation highlights our efforts to carry over very foundational research expertise into practice. If you want to learn more about the developed approach and new interesting research questions that arise from it, you may consider attending the research seminar talk.
